You can find customer Haz 6 mods, and Starship trooper mods which essentially double the bugs at i think a Haz 4 level.Get ready to rock as a space miner in Deep Rock Galactic, a 4-person co-op first-person shooter where you play as a dwarf digging for treasure in space. Installing mods is fairly simple and there's a ton to choose from on mod.io. If you do find solo hazard levels easy there is a thriving mod community that run multiple setups to increase difficulty without breaking the game. After I hit dwarf character level 16ish anything less than Haz 4 is generally 100% success for me with certain Dwarves (Driller and Gunner are my strongest classes) but the terrain generation and enemy spawn tables can still shit on your parade sometimes - but that's half the fun of this game imo. You can disable the robot to make solo runs more difficult as you won't have any revives unless you run a perk that let's you get up after death, like Iron Will. The hordes are smaller on solo (and you have a robot buddy bosco that has infinite ammo and is invulnerable). I have not attempted anything higher than haz 4 or whatever the first two stages of the Elite Deep Dives are. The creativity with which you have at your disposal to explore the caves is the most fun part. I say "shooter" in quotations because this is more of a cave exploration / mining game first and shooter second. I suck at FPS games and this is the first "shooter" I've picked up since like Modern Warfare 2 so take this with a grain of salt but this game still presents me with a challenge.

I'd still play the game solo even if all my friends stopped playing especially for $30 (it might be on sale still for half off which is a steal for this game) Personally I don't play with random people. If I didn't play solo I'd probably main a single class, but because going solo is sometimes easier with one class over another for certain mission types (ie drillers on refinery) you might end up playing more evenly across all classes. But the fun I find in solo is the challenge of getting better at using a specific class and trying out new loadouts, overclocks etc. I play about 50% solo, but i look forward to playing with friends once or twice a week to do deep dives, and stuff.įor me, it's not a question of is it fun solo - because if it wasn't I wouldn't bother playing. However the game really shines in multiplayer with four respective classes represented. I think it's entirely possible for a someone to play solo and enjoy it.
